About Us

Katina Thelemaque, educator and camp lead, has short, twisted hair, wearing large leaf-shaped earrings, a light green blazer, and a striped top, smiling against a gray background.

Maque Camp LLC is owned and operated by Katina Thelemaque. After more than a decade as a classroom teacher, Katina became an elementary school principal before founding Maque Camp. As a working mom in SOMA (South Orange/Maplewood), she experienced firsthand the challenges families face in securing reliable, safe activities for school-aged children during school closuresβ€”often having to arrange last-minute childcare or compete for limited camp spots. Determined to address this need, Katina established Maque Camp to provide engaging mini-camps during school breaks, offering local families flexible, high-quality care.

Katina is highly respected in the communities where she has taught and led. She remains committed to creating positive, inclusive environments where children can connect, learn, and thrive.
